YOUR QUICK CHECKLIST
Clothing & shoe sizing checklist
- Compare measurements for the exact listing with an item that already fits you.
- Keep flat garment measurements separate from body measurements.
- Use a listing-specific shoe chart and confirm what each length represents.
The most useful size reference is often an item you already wear comfortably. Compare that item with measurements for the exact listing and option you intend to buy.
A size letter or a familiar model name is a starting label. It does not establish that two listings have the same dimensions.
Build a simple clothing reference
Lay a suitable garment flat without stretching it. Record the measurement positions so you can repeat them. Compare like with like: a garment’s flat chest width is different from a body circumference.
| Item | Useful dimensions to compare | Extra question |
|---|---|---|
| T-shirt or sweatshirt | Chest width, body length, shoulder width, sleeves | Where does the seller start the length measurement? |
| Jacket | Chest, shoulders, sleeves, body length | Is there enough room for the layer underneath? |
| Trousers or shorts | Waist, rise, inside leg, leg opening | Is the waist measured relaxed or stretched? |
| Jersey | Chest width, body length, sleeves | Does the selected version have different dimensions? |
These are comparison prompts, not a universal measurement standard. Use the seller’s stated method, and ask when its diagram or labels are unclear.
Work through a clothing example
Suppose a T-shirt you like measures 54 cm across the chest and 69 cm in body length using your recorded method. An option on a seller’s chart reads 56 cm and 72 cm using that same method.
That option is 2 cm wider across the flat chest and 3 cm longer. Whether those changes suit you is a separate decision: check the shoulders and sleeves too, and allow for any tolerance stated on the current chart. These invented numbers explain comparison only; they are not measurements for a product in our edits.
For readers used to inches, 1 inch = 2.54 cm, as listed in the NIST conversion reference. Convert the unit before comparing, and keep the measurement method the same. Converting units does not turn a body measurement into a garment measurement.
Choose the amount of room you want
Start with your reference item and the intended use. If you want a roomier top, look at what changes in width, length and sleeves across the available options. Moving up a size can change more than the dimension you wanted.
Words such as slim, regular and oversized describe an intended style. Compare the actual numbers when they are available.
Treat shoe charts as listing-specific
Find the size chart for the exact option. Check whether a length refers to a foot, insole or another measurement, and compare it with a reference taken in the same way.
Avoid turning a single buyer’s “true to size” comment into a rule for every seller or model. The linked Reddit question illustrates this uncertainty; it does not answer it for the shoes in our edit.
The first-haul question linked below was posted on 14 November 2025 and asks about transferring a usual shoe size to particular listings. The separate April 2026 first-order account reports tight shirts and includes a referral code and a free item. Neither establishes a sizing rule for our selection.
Ask for the missing measurement
Keep your request precise: the dimension, selected size and measurement method. If a label is visible but the relevant measurement is missing, the fit question is still open.
When warehouse images are available, use them to check the selected size and any requested measurement before dispatch. Our QC guide explains how to read those images.
Record your choice
Save your reference measurements, the seller’s chart, the selected option and the date you checked. This gives you something consistent to use if the listing changes or you need to clarify the order.
We have not fit-tested the products in these edits. Use the Lovegobuy category shortlists to choose candidates, then open their current product records in the full catalog to resolve the details.
After delivery, use the clothing care-label guide to read the garment’s cleaning instructions before its first wash.
Lovegobuy sizing questions
Is there one Lovegobuy size chart for all items?
Lovegobuy is an ordering agent for different marketplace listings. Use the chart and measurement method for the exact seller, item and selected option; this guide does not provide a universal size conversion.
Should I always order one size larger?
Compare the actual width, length and sleeves with a reference item first. Moving up a size can alter several dimensions, including ones you do not want to change.
Is flat chest width the same as chest circumference?
No. A flat width is measured across a laid-flat garment; a body circumference goes around the body. Record which measurement the chart uses before comparing numbers.
