Measure waist, rise and inseam as separate decisions
Levi’s SecondHand explains a reference-pair inseam method: follow the inside seam from the crotch to the hem. Record that separately from the outside leg, which begins at a different point. This makes a comparison more useful than a single length number.
Ask how the waistband was measured, then compare front rise and thigh room as well. For elastic shorts, request both the relaxed measurement and the stated usable range. Do not assume a stretched maximum describes a comfortable fit.

What to check in jeans and shorts photos
Look for a full front and back view before focusing on a print or patch. Check the fly, hems, pocket openings and any drawstring or adjustment. If the photo shows several colours, confirm which option your saved record refers to.
Treat stretch, fabric weight and composition as questions for the seller. The word Hyperflex or a distressed appearance does not give us an independently tested result for the listed item. Keep any measurements and material answers with the exact product link.

Identify the waistband measurement
Ask whether the figure is flat width or full circumference, and whether an elastic waist is relaxed or stretched. Do not compare those figures as if they were interchangeable.

Compare front rise, inside leg and outside leg using the same endpoints. A waist size alone does not explain where the hem or waistband will sit.

Request clear views of the fly, pocket openings, seams and hems. Treat stretch and fabric composition as listing claims until supported by suitable information.
